A New York Story
New York has long been part of Matouk’s story. In 1942, as World War II disrupted access to European textiles, John Matouk opened the company’s first factory in New York City. There, he pioneered a new textile blend that allowed Matouk to continue producing the table linens at the heart of the business. That spirit of resourcefulness and innovation continues to guide us today.
Matouk has maintained a presence in the city ever since, with showrooms in its garment and textile district and longstanding ties to New York’s design community. When we opened our first retail store in 2024, New York was a natural choice. House of Matouk on the Upper East Side continues that connection, welcoming designers and customers into the world of Matouk.
